Something Wicked This Way Comes...

Click on the tabs above to catch a glimpse of how this page will function in the future. With this new mode of navigation, the entire site – or much more than before – is loaded onto one main page. This cuts back on duplicate code from file to file and greatly reduces the size of the web site. It also allows the user to view requested information instantaneously instead of waiting on the browser to connect and load several pages.

You might notice that, right now, this page looks incredibly similar to the current layout of the site. That will change radically. I plan to implement several graphics to visually enhance your visit to this space. I also plan to improve the degree of user interactivity – that means you will participate in [insert activities here] supplied by this web site ... hopefully.

One drawback is that this web site will function properly only in standards compliant browsers, which to my knowledge means Internet Explorer 5.5 and above. If you're reading this, you can't have a problem with that.

With a little effort, a little help, and a lot of patience, I hope to improve this web site tremendously in the coming weeks. Please do not ask how long, though, because I have no idea, but I don't expect anything before April.

Words To Your Mother

Ideas are permanent, despite that many are lost to a lack of memory. Here I will try to prevent some of mine (and others') from disappearing, and I will provide a convenient portal by which you may reach them. They represent a variety of things - opinions, events, philosophy, politics, among others - and hopefully value finds them.

If you decide to continue, you may enjoy yourself or you may not. Some of my writings are absolutely wonderful. Some are absolute crap. Anyway, read what you like, or just look at it blankly for a few seconds before deciding not to. I don't really care. It is here for me just as much as it is here for you, so just in case... Read my warning. For the most part, everything is sorted by topic, then by date, the most recent articles on top.

(I have recently decided to rid this page of any entries from my weblog. The archive is permanent, so you can always find anything that I have written in there in there. This page is intended to be the home of important school and other outside assignments and a few random oddities that don't fit anywhere else.)

Thoughtful Questions (readers respond!)

How do you feel your life has changed since September 11?

What is your government's job? (in your opinion / ideally / etc.)

What do you care of others' judgement of you? (people who know you, or don't, etc.)

Is the glass half empty or half full?

Look! Pictures of my mom's pretty car! You know all those times that I've mentioned something about taking my mom's awesome car? Well, now you can enjoy it too. That, and you can see a group picture from Tony's surprise birthday party. Oh, and there will be more - a few candid shots of classmates, and even some of my sister's graduation stuff. Oh yes, there will be more...

2001 Apr 29 - Party: Mike, Carrie, Matt, Claire, Chris, me, Hannah, mom, Tony, Andy.

2001 Apr 7 - Accord 3: From the front right. Pretty shot.

2001 Apr 7 - 4: Mom moves around to the left... I smiled again.

2001 Mar 5 - 20: Tony aiming the video camera at me. Story of our vacation. :-)
2001 Mar 5 - 19: Claire and me kissing. Very difficult picture to take - I got it in one try, baby!
2001 Mar 5 - 18: Nathan and Jennifer kissing, take two. Aww.
     2001 Mar 5 - 16: Ryan posing (I think). Very funny guy.
2001 Mar 5 - 12: better picture of the naked chick in the water. 800x600.
2001 Mar 5 - 10: a slightly blurry (it's a nice effect) image of Claire in front of the water.
2001 Mar 5 - 37: A picture of me taking my pictures of the sunset. :)
     2001 Mar 4 - 33: Mike and Jennifer playing with Claire's camera.
2001 Mar 4 - 32: Claire and me on the couch, and Ryan making a goofy face.
2001 Mar 3 - 30: Mike and Nathan still burying me. It got up to my waste. Mike kicks hard.
2001 Mar 3 - 27: Ryan, Claire, and I stayed up and talked. Exhibit A: evidence that we slept.
2001 Mar 2 - 25: Tony from the backseat; nice shot Claire.
2001 Mar 2 - 24: Group shot from a different angle. Notice the back end my awesome car.

2001 Jan 23 - Me, Mike, and Tony (left to right) on Claire's couch.
2001 Jan 23 - Claire is very photogenic, and she liked the camera, so she got seconds.
2001 Jan 23 - Claire and Mike in the Macon State parking lot after class, next to my car.
2001 Jan 16 - Heather in Psychology, loving the camera, just before the punchline.
2000 Dec 28 - Dalila standing in her kitchen, trying to ignore the camera.
2000 Dec 27 - My new laptop sitting on its desk in my old bedroom.
2000 Jul 30 - My favorite picture of me - ever! I like my hair like that...

Sunday, April 29, 2001

Some of you thought that this day would never come. I was inadvertently plotting against this day ever coming. But, nonetheless, it has come. Laugh all you want to, shield your eyes, cry, whatever. But, yes, you actually get to see me in a suit. (Mike's suit.) So, whatever. I hope you find some odd sense of pleasure in this.

This second group of pictures was taken by Claire's camera and then scanned into my computer. My scanner is not quite of the quality of my digital camera, but it's not too shabby either. All but one of these pictures are from our vacation to the beach last week. Also, next time I add more pictures to the site, these additions will be mixed in with the rest in chronological order (oldest at the bottom). Get 'em while they're hot!
It's taken a little under ninety minutes to get them all scanned and cropped right, but here they are! The newest images are scans of Claire's camera's interpretation of Mexico Beach. These images are slightly larger than those from my digital camera because I shrank most of mine to 640x480, while I shrank most of Claire's to 1000x650 or 1000x700. Either way, her pictures are bigger. Also, fear this: more pictures are coming! As soon as I get my disposable camera's film developed, I should have roughly twenty-one more pictures. I am only guessing twenty-one because these first two installments contained twenty-one pictures apiece. Happy surfing.

Beware the ides of March, they say. Well, this year, for the ides of March, you are given beach photos! I only have those from my digital camera currently, but I will scan those from Claire's camera as soon as I get them over here and feel compelled to do so. I am adding twenty-one beach pictures here; love them. All twenty-one were taken with my digital camera on the 4th and 5th of March. All pictures from the 6th and 7th are still on the camera because Nathan and/or Ryan damaged either the camera-to-computer cable or the camera's cable port. Either way, the eight pictures or so are fine, just stuck on the camera. Several scans of pictures from my other camera and Claire's camera should be added in the not-too-distant future. All of these pictures are 640x480 unless otherwise noted.

Monday, February 19, 2001

It's been twenty-six days since I last had pictures to add, but I think it was worth the wait. I have added three new pictures, all taken with Claire's camera, meaning I was forced to wait for them to develop rather than upload them from my digital camera as usual. No matter - they are here for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Wednesday, January 24, 2001

It's only been a couple days, and I have more pictures for you! For your information, you should expect new pictures sporadically and somewhat clumped together. I'll go on a camera-happy spree for a few days, and then I'll forget to pull it out for several days (weeks?) at a time. It happens. Either way, two more for you...

Sunday, January 21, 2001

It's about time I added some more pictures! Well, one anyway. I have several on the way, but I'm too lazy to rename, recrop, resize, etc. them. So, you'll get them when I feel like it. The newly added picture of Heather was taken in my Psychology class last week.

Friday, December 29, 2000

As it is about time for such, I am adding a new load of pictures to the site that are not baby pictures! They will arrive sporadically and will depict random persons, places and events. I cannot help this. However, note that the great majority of them will be taken with my new digital camera, the FujiFilm FinePix 1400! Everyone should have a digital camera - they're so much better than regular cameras, except that the pictures can only be viewed on a computer screen in most cases. Anyway, I think this page will become some sort of a list of my pictures. I'm not sure exactly how it will be done, but maybe I'll follow the lead I am providing myself with here, and I'll continue to add pictures in this manner in the future!

Tuesday, November 21, 2000

The personal picture gallery project has begun! Here you will find any and every picture that I ever feel to be one of my favorites - that is, good enough to be on this page. You'll see more of me than anything, but also family, friends, pets and other pictures of just about anything that might happen to mean something to me - thus a "personal" picture gallery. Enjoy, if that's at all possible.
Just for now, the pictures are to be unsorted, other than by filename. Note that "lilpimp" is my younger brother, Jim, and "bigpimp" is my dad. You'll also see my sister and my mom, but I don't think you'll have any problems picking them out. Anyway, here's the list! Due to the graphic nature of this content, parental discretion is advised. Also, the data has been edited for the purposes of fitting into the allotted space frame.
