This links page had been left untouched for several months until I finally decided to do something about it in early August, while I had a short break from school and the other stresses of life. Below you will find nearly every useful link I can think of, as long as I remember to keep the list up to date. Navigate to a particular category of links using the links immediately following this paragraph. For the most part, web sites are arranged in alphabetical order in their respective sections. Sometimes sites are arranged in order of usefulness or, well, the better ones are just on top. When they're not in alphabetical order, well, I let my bias be shown.

I Contribute

Polstate (Political State Report) -- A grassroots political web site. Contributors from each state report on news relevant to local elections and politics. National candidates are fair game; otherwise news with a national twist is ignored. Grassroots!

Slashdot -- "News for nerds. Stuff that matters." The best (biased) community for news and discussion regarding information, technology, and anything relevant to those topics.

BetaNews -- The best source of fresh software on the Internet. Download all kinds of (latest edition) software. I review the stuff I like.

Friends

AbsolutLiz -- "A girl's mind in 0's and 1's along with monthly 2's." With a slogan like that, I can remember why I liked chatting with Liz. This is her blog.

neotope.com -- That's neotope.com as in crash.neotope.com. Matt gives my web site life. I owe Matt my life or my net worth at age 30, whichever he deems to be greater.

nickd.org -- nickd is a dj. he likes kitty. he goes to northwestern. he doesn't believe in the shift key. and his site speaks to you from the source.

whichwayup.org -- Dave is probably my closest blog friend at the moment, and the only one I've never met who reads my site consistently. Politically inclined.

Zone:38 -- I've known Cody since I was about nine. He's one of the smartest people I've ever known. His site features the Proofreader Hall of Shame.

Best in News (portals)

Google News -- Google is by far the best at offering every service that it offers. Its offering of links to incredibly recent news articles around the web and around the world is unmatched.

Real Clear Politics -- Best list of daily political links on the web. Check the links on the left of the page for some awesome subections (Commentary, News Coverage, Political Races, Polls!). One of the best political news resources on the net, if not the best.

Drudge Report -- Matt Drudge started the Internet news craze, scooping all the networks with a very simple web site design that made beating them to the punch easy. Without the corporate ties, it was also much easier to post controversial headlines without fear. A great place for up-to-the-minute major headlines. Subject to the bias of Drudge and his team, which is negligible; they're not bad.

Political News Daily -- Similar to Drudge in that it links to headlines, but much more focused on politics and government, and much more informative with story summaries.

Black Sheep News -- A site very similar to Drudge. A good alternative that often links to the same stories; hey, there's only one Internet, so they all have access to the same news.

Perfunctory -- Links to some of the most popular and most credible news sources on the web. Incredibly useful. Beats the pants off of my links page.

Reference Desk -- Even more links with a greater variety of categories of information. Less focused on news than Perfunctory. Still a great reference.

Best in News (newspapers and media)

OpinionJournal -- The Wall Street Journal's Editorial section. Great commentary.

Atlanta Journal Constitution -- Atlanta's paper. Not that great, but I'm from Georgia, so it's useful to me.

Macon Telegraph -- I live in Macon, so it's even more useful... on rare occasions.

New York Times -- One of the most trusted names in news. I'm skeptical.

Washington Post -- The lefter-leaning DC newspaper.

Washington Times -- The righter-leaning DC newspaper.

CNN: Inside Politics -- I don't find much of CNN useful; just the Inside Politics part.

Fox News -- I prefer Fox News over CNN, both for quality of web design and quality of reporting.

Best in News (government and organizations)

United Nations -- A direct link to the UN's news page.

US State Department -- A direct link to the Secretary of State's news page.

Best in Commentary

Accuracy In Media

Best of the Web -- News portal and blog, both at the same time. Best commentary on the net.
